These are a few of our favorite I-pad apps we used to help our daughter learn letters, letter sounds, letter shapes and more. Some are free and some have a small charge. There are also free portions of a few of these apps so you can test the app before committing to buy.

Endless Alphabet This is possibly my absolute favorite app for preschoolers. They can choose a word, the cute monsters run through their chosen word and children have to drag the letters back to the word to recreate the messy word. While they drag the letters, the monsters make the letter sounds. I find this app genius. If you enjoy this app, scroll down and see more apps by this developer. Endless Reader, Endless Numbers, & Endless Wordplay are similar concepts.

123 Numbers Counting and tracing numbers is an important skill to learn before entering Kindergarten. This free app makes tracing numbers fun for preschoolers.

Bob Books Apps I was very impressed with the Bob Book App for iPad. We own a few of the Bob Books but this makes them come to life with site words that your child can drag and learn to spell via their divide.

ABC Phonics This is also one of my ultimate favorite apps for kids to learn letters and letter sounds. The songs are still stuck in my head.

Time Telling App This app helps children practice their clock skills.

Animal Pre-K These apps help with colors, math and shapes and more. This app has many of the common core standards built in.

LetterSchool – Learn to Write! Your child can choose their letter – lower case and upper case and trace using their finger. The App helps direct them on the order of operation on the steps to make letters.

Hopster Coding Safari for Kids – This free coding app for kids is wonderful. Your children have to use logic to solve puzzles to help the animals get to where they are going. It’s a great intro into coding logic skills.

We hope you enjoy these apps as much as we do. Leave us a comment on any apps you suggest for preschool and kindergarten age children.
