Let’s head to Lake Geneva for a quick weekend trip to get away! We decided we would take Olivia to see the Dancing Horses Theatre, Tristan Crist Magic Theatre and walk the Shore Path along the Lake! We just need to make it through April and hope for an early spring.
We booked one night at The Ridge Hotel in Lake Geneva. Their hotel is going through a renovation and the lobby and on-site restaurant are very posh and stylish!
Dancing Horses Theatre was rated the #1 Must See Attraction in Wisconsin. We love the circus and this looked similar and really cute. There is a petting zoo, bird show and the dancing horses. $27.50 per ticket and children 2 and under are free to sit on their parents lap. We loved the short mini shows they do as it keeps the little ones attention and our attention too. The Shetland Pony steals the show and the acrobats and aerial yoga are outstanding. Don’t be alarmed by the metal chairs and outdate auditorium when you walk in, the show and talented acts make up for the low-key decor.
Tristan Crist Magic Theatre has a 3pm, 5pm and 7:30pm magic show. Tickets are $35 per person. I didn’t see a young child discount. Located downtown Lake Geneva, we decided to do dinner before the 7:30pm show.
Another top attractions on our to-do list for Lake Geneva include: The Miracle House which is supposed to be seen as you are strolling the Shore Path. I love kitchy, unique experiences and if the weather is fairly nice, we love being outside. This combines all of my favorite things into one activity.
We decided to try Sopra off Main Street for an upscale dinner. The tuna tartare and goat cheese appetizer were the highlights and I highly recommend. Olivia had plenty of hatchimals and an LOL Doll to keep her preoccupied while we enjoyed our apps and glass of wine.
If we weren’t so tired we would have ended the night with live music and a tasting at: Studio’s Tasting Room Winery
The Maxwell Mansion, and Baker Mansion, both part of the Historic Hotels of Lake Geneva, both overlook Lake Geneva. The Maxwell Mansion has an afternoon high tea that sounded lovely but we couldn’t do that and the Dancing Horses! Their Sunday brunch was something we would typically splurge on but we are headed back home early Sunday A.M.
